I needed to create some "space" so I created some shell... thingies.

My mom lives about an hour and a half away from me, in a place where nothing much goes down. It's green and open and has become my new favorite "tuning in" spot on my days off.

I was feeling so congested by traffic, noise, population; overstimulated to the point where I couldn't "hear" myself. And that's bad news. Especially for a gal who needs lots of inner communion to feel balanced and safe.

So i drove my behind to Polk freakin county and called it a retreat.

A "creating space" retreat. No to-do list, no deadlines, no pressure. Just some good ol' fashion dilly dallying through books, strolling around and following my flow.

Which brought me to this: a glue gun, a hat full of shells and a rock.

Just what I needed.

Some play time with my hands, sitting on the porch and sipping on some tart and icey grapefruit juice. (i know)

I wanted to share how awesome this day turned out. I am really proud of what I made; but moreso I am proud for giving myself the needed "time out" to get here.

It took a while to get into the zone. I noticed myself rushing: burning myself with the glue gun, dropping the shells and feeling "rushed".

It was definitely something to take notice of and breathe through.

I'd say about two hours in, time had disappeared and me and my hands were like two shells on a rock.
